The Catalan designer and custom Antoni Bonet Castellano may be permanently recognized as a of the Butterfly Seat (formally, the BKF Seat), but Bonet experienced a grander, if reduced-acknowledged treasure in his overhead, additionally, living about the borders of Barcelona. A Modernist summer season home, Gomis, was designed for his wife Mata and Gomis besotted using the builder, subsequently living that his options were wanted by them across locations. Bonet approved the prolonged-length fee, and over a-10-year interval—1953 to 1963—Casa Gomis arrived to stunning focus.
Resting amid a package of land Gomis open-floor plan, reduced, outside account, and clear views given by surfaces of glass remain traditional hallmarks obviously, of Modernism. But Bonet guaranteed the home’s single personality with beguiling details: a gently undulating top—fittingly made up of Catalan containers—and ornamental masonry latticework, inserted with tinted glass. Nevertheless within the fingers of the Gomis home, Casa Gomis produces the pale, melancholic elegance of excellent homes which are no further qualities, but which—like all fantastic girls—have the ability to keep their appeal whatever the passing of period.
